Athlete of the Year & Director's Cup

The Intramural Athlete of the Year Award is presented annually to one outstanding male and one outstanding female non-Greek and Greek participants (4 total awards) that display exemplary sportsmanship, leadership, participation, and team/individual success.  The winning participants will be invited to the SOC Awards Banquet in April to receive their awards.

The Director's Cup is designed to increase participation, reward sportsmanship, and recognize a campus intramural champion. The Director's Cup has been an important part of NKU's Intramural Sports Program since its inaugural season in 2003 - 2004.

So, how does the Director's Cup work?  Each team will be awarded points based on the system described in the Intramural Sports Handbook.  At the end of the year, each team's points are added up.  The team with the most points is crowned "NKU Intramural Champion."  The team's name is engraved on the Director's Cup Trophy and displayed the following year at the Campus Recreation Center for all to see.  For a complete break down of the Director's Cup point system, see the Northern Kentucky University Intramural Sports Policy.
