Trips Policies & Procedures
Registration & Payment
Registration is on a first come, first serve basis. Spots will only be reserved with full payment by the trip registration deadline. All of the following are acceptable forms of payment: personal checks, cash, Visa and MasterCard. All personal checks should be made out to "NKU". Refunds will be given if they are before the trip registration deadline. After the trip registration deadline, refunds will only be given if you can find a substitute participant to go in your place or if you have a documented medical emergency or illness.
Required Paperwork
Registration will not be accepted unless the following items are fully completed at the time of registration:
- NKU Outdoor Adventure Program Trip Agreement
- NKU Outdoor Adventure Program Health Information Form
- NKU Outdoor Adventure Program Release of Liability
- Copy of current Health Insurance Card
Proof of Insurance
Northern Kentucky University does not offer health insurance on any Outdoor Adventure Program trips. Trip participants are required to provide proof of current insurance to be eligible to participate on an Outdoor Adventure Program trip.
Zero Substance Policy
The Outdoor Adventure Program at Northern Kentucky University does not permit the use or possession of alcohol or illegal drugs while participating in activities or trips within the program. Anyone using illegal drugs or alcohol will be immediately removed from the trip or activity and will face additional disciplinary action upon their return to Northern Kentucky University. If a participant is removed from a trip, they are held responsible for all costs (which may be substantial, including additional airfare, taxis, etc.) incurred during their return to Northern Kentucky University.
